WhatsApp Wrapped 2026

Drop a chat export, see your 2026 in that chat, and share it as one picture. Your browser does it all, so the file stays on your device.

Updated

Your file never leaves your device. This page reads it and draws your card in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

WhatsApp Wrapped is a free recap of 2026 in one WhatsApp chat, made in your browser from the chat's export: messages this year, the busiest month and day, who talks most and who replies fastest, top words and emoji, voice notes and photos, the longest streak and the latest night. It makes a card to share, with names only if you choose. Nothing is uploaded: it is a free tool from Circles, which connects your WhatsApp to your AI agent.

Ask your AI about any chat, any day, in the chats you choose.

Circles connects your WhatsApp to ChatGPT, Claude or Instinct. Every signup starts with 14 days of Pro, with no card.

How to export a WhatsApp chat

WhatsApp exports one chat at a time, from your phone. Without media is quicker, and Wrapped still counts the voice notes and photos.

  1. On an iPhone

Open the chat, tap its name at the top, then Export chat. Choose Without media and save the .zip to Files, or AirDrop it to your computer.

  2. On an Android phone

Open the chat, tap the three dots, then More and Export chat. Choose Without media and save the .txt to your files, or send it to yourself.

  3. Drop it above

Drop the .zip or the .txt on Wrapped, or tap it to choose the file. It works on a phone too.

The menu names change a little between WhatsApp versions; WhatsApp's own help page shows the current ones.

What is in your Wrapped

  • Messages in 2026, and how many days had any.
  • The busiest month and the busiest day of the year.
  • Who talks most, with each person's share of the messages.
  • Who replies fastest: the typical time each person takes to answer someone else.
  • Top words and the most-sent emoji, without small words like "the" and "and".
  • Voice notes and photos sent this year.
  • The longest streak: the most days in a row with messages.
  • The latest night: the latest anyone was still writing, up to six in the morning.

Only messages from 2026 count, by the date the phone wrote on each one. An export that goes back years works: the older messages are left out of the recap. It reads exports from iPhone and Android phones, in any date order, and the lines WhatsApp writes itself count for nobody.

The card, and the names on it

Wrapped draws one portrait picture, the size of a phone story, with the year's highlights. Your browser draws it on this page and saves it as a PNG when you tap download. On a phone you can also share it straight to WhatsApp, Instagram or anywhere else.

The card shows no names. Tick Show names on the card and it adds who talks most, who replies fastest and who stayed up latest; untick it and they are gone again. A top word that is someone's name stays off a card without names. The corner says usecircles.app, so friends can make their own.

Your chat stays on your device

Wrapped is a small script that runs in your browser. It opens the file you choose, counts it, and draws the recap and the card on this page. It never sends the file, the card or anything in them to Circles or to anyone else. Once the page has loaded, it works with your internet switched off.

That is the same idea behind Circles itself: you decide which chats an AI gets to see. Read more on the security page.

Questions and answers

Is my chat uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser reads the file, counts it and draws the card on your device, and Circles never receives any of it. You can load the page, switch off your internet and Wrapped still works.

Is this made by WhatsApp?

No. WhatsApp Wrapped is a free tool from Circles, and Circles is not a WhatsApp or Meta product. It reads the export file that WhatsApp's own Export chat makes.

Does it work for a group?

Yes. Export the group like any chat. Who talks most lists everyone, and the card shows the top talker's share, with their name only if you tick the box.

How does it work out who replies fastest?

For each person, it takes the time between someone else's message and their answer, when the answer came within twelve hours, and finds their typical one (the median). People with fewer than three replies in the year are left out.

Why does it say the chat has no messages from 2026?

Wrapped counts only this year. A chat that went quiet before 2026 has nothing to wrap; try one that was busy this year.

How is this different from Circles?

Wrapped looks at one export, once. Circles connects your WhatsApp to your AI agent, so you can ask about the chats you choose any time, without exporting anything. See Circles' plans.
