WhatSync alternative

Circles vs WhatSync: your WhatsApp, your AI, your rules

Both connect your personal WhatsApp to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents. Circles gives you full available history, replies only where you allow them, and a phone-first setup for $29 a month.

Circles is the WhatSync alternative for people who want their whole WhatsApp useful to their AI, for less every month. Circles Pro is $29 a month (₪99 in Israel): every chat you choose, full available history, voice notes as text in Hebrew and English, and sending only where you allow it. WhatSync's plan with full history, Max, is $49 a month billed monthly, so Circles Pro costs $20 less every month, as of 2026-10-31. On yearly billing Max is $39 a month, $468 a year, and twelve monthly payments of Circles Pro still come to $348, $120 less.

The short answer

  • Choose Circles if you want full available history, sending you approve chat by chat, and a monthly plan you can leave any time. Full history and sending come in Pro, for $29 a month.
  • Choose Circles Free or Starter if your AI only needs to read a few chats. Free covers 2 chats with a month of history. Starter is $9.90 a month for up to 5 chats and three months. Both are read only: they never send.
  • Choose WhatSync if you need the words in photos and scanned documents read for you, voice notes transcribed in a language other than Hebrew or English, the official WhatsApp Business API, or the cheapest plan that sends. WhatSync Plus is $19 a month billed monthly, or $15 billed yearly, and can send messages you approve.

What full history costs on each

Compare the plan that does the whole job: every chat you pick, your history as far back as it goes, and replies you approve.

The two packages are not identical. WhatSync Max also reads the words in photos and scanned documents and transcribes voice notes in any language, up to 120 minutes a day. Circles transcribes voice notes in Hebrew and English and hands photos and PDFs to your AI, which reads them itself. If your chats are mostly text, documents, and voice notes in those languages, Circles Pro gives you full history and sending for less each month.

Circles' first paid month is refunded in full on request within 7 days, and a subscriber's price does not go up.

Built for the phone in your hand

Most of WhatsApp happens on a phone, so Circles is set up from one. You open usecircles.app in your phone's browser, the sign-in link arrives on WhatsApp, and you link your number with a code typed into WhatsApp's Linked devices screen. No laptop, no bridge to keep running. Circles is hosted, so it keeps working when your computer is closed.

Then ask from wherever you already talk to your AI. With Instinct, you ask inside WhatsApp itself, by text or voice note: "what did the class group decide?". With Claude, you add one address once and ask from the Claude apps that support custom connectors. ChatGPT connects on the web, where your plan or workspace supports custom MCP connectors. The full walk-through: WhatsApp AI on your phone.

Your rules, chat by chat

WhatSync and Circles both let you choose which chats your AI sees. Circles adds three things that matter once an AI can write in your name:

  • Three settings per chat. Hidden, read, or read and send. A hidden chat is invisible to every agent: it is not listed, searched or named. When an agent asks for a chat it cannot see, the answer names what it can see, so it does not guess.
  • Sending stays yours. Off until you open a chat for it, capped per day across all your agents, and a failed send is never retried automatically.
  • A record of every request. Each agent has its own line in your activity log and its own disconnect button. You see what it asked for, including what was refused.

Circles links your WhatsApp through a dedicated IP address, shared with no other Circles customer. Every connection between your browser or AI client and Circles uses encrypted HTTPS. Connection details and limits.

Talk to the people who build it

Both companies put you in touch with their own team, and that is worth having. At Circles, write to mayanc@3peaks.dev or message the Circles WhatsApp number, and the people building Circles read it. Circles is built by 3Peaks in Israel, in Hebrew and English.

A fair note on integrations

WhatSync lists ready integrations with CRMs and work tools such as HubSpot, monday.com and ClickUp, plus API keys and webhooks on Max. If logging WhatsApp into a CRM is the job, look at those. Circles is built for one person and their AI. For your own automations, Circles has an HTTP API on the same chats and permissions.

Questions and answers

Is Circles cheaper than WhatSync?

For full history, yes. Circles Pro is $29 a month and WhatSync Max is $49, both billed monthly: $20 less every month, as of 2026-10-31. Billed yearly, Max is $39 a month, $468 a year, against $348 for twelve months of Circles Pro: $120 less. WhatSync Plus, at $19 billed monthly or $15 billed yearly, is cheaper than Circles Pro, with 1,000 older messages.

Does Circles read text in photos like WhatSync Pro?

No. Circles hands photos, PDFs and documents to your AI as files, up to 50 MB each, and the AI reads them itself. WhatSync Pro and up read the words in photos and scanned documents for you.

Which languages does Circles transcribe?

Circles transcribes voice notes automatically in Hebrew and English, inline as text your AI can search. WhatSync Pro and up transcribe any language, up to 120 minutes a day.

Can I try Circles while I still have WhatSync?

Yes. Circles starts with 14 days of Pro free and links as its own device, so you can compare both on the same chats before you decide. The guide switching from WhatSync has the steps.

Do I need a computer to set up Circles?

No. You can sign up, link WhatsApp with a code and connect Instinct from your phone, then ask it inside WhatsApp. Circles runs in the cloud, so nothing has to stay open.
